The 2824 Gigabit Fully Managed Switch presents a cost-effective solution for medium and large businesses. This switch includes 20 10/100/1000BASE-T copper Gigabit ports and 4 combo SFP (Ethernet/Mini GBIC) ports for flexible fiber Gigabit connectivity. This switch supports basic IP routing as well as VLAN tagging for up to 256 VLANs simultaneously. Ports can also be trunked for larger virtual bandwidth.The 2824 comes with ProCurve Manager, a dynamic network management package with fast access to real-time information from an intuitive interface, and automated tools that take action when problems arise. ProCurve Manager and the upgrade, ProCurve Manager Plus give you the power to dynamically manage devices and traffic from a simple, top-down perspective. When coupled with Identity Driven Manager you can also manage user access in both a wired and wireless environment.The switch comes with the industry leading lifetime warranty. The warranty includes free telephone support, advanced next day replacement on all parts including fans and power supplies, and free software updates, all for as long as you own the switch. The switch supports RMON, XRMON, sFlow, and SMON. It also automatically adjusts for straight-through or crossover cables on all 10/100/1000 ports. With 802.1ab LLDP discovery the 2824 advertises and receives management information from adjacent devices on a network and with the stacking capability it provides single IP address management for a virtual stack of up to 16 switches, including the ProCurve 2500 series, 2600 series, 2800 series, 3400cl series, 6108, 6400cl series, and 4100gl series.
